In this hands-on masterclass, Han Dai-Yu (Figurative Artist) and Renée Reizman (Artist and founder of Disability Drawing Club) guided participants through the process of creating figurative portraits using pencil. Exploring concepts of inclusion and universality, the class worked with a model with a disability as the subject. No experience was required.

Amanda Lechner led our first-ever Artist Opportunity Swap: A Reciprocal Cyclic Exchange.
In this active, participatory workshop, artists gathered to share opportunities and build reciprocal connections. Practicing artists at different stages of their careers—including early-career artists, junior faculty preparing for promotion, and established artists looking to reinvigorate their practice—were invited to arrive with at least one opportunity to offer and to leave with at least one new opportunity in return.

For the second year in a row, the Services to Artists Committee hosted the 2026 CAA Portfolio Review and Industry Advice for Artists. Emerging and established artists across all media received valuable feedback, guidance, and professional insights from leading industry professionals. Participants brought portfolios, writing samples, and questions to this drop-in event, building connections and advancing their practices. We were able to offer around 80 portfolio review sessions!

This month at Kid's Creativity Club, young artists explored painting, sculpture, and mixed media through two hands-on projects: Egg Carton Animal Portraits and Salt Snowflakes. Using recycled egg cartons, we created playful 3D animal portraits and experimented with texture and watercolour to make shimmering salt snowflakes.
