Our Emerging Educators are ready to welcome classes to Kingston School of Art for our School Programs! The Emerging Educators will deliver School Programs to Elementary and Secondary Schools across Katarokwi-Kingston from October through June.

This wonderful group engaged in theoretical and hands-on training throughout September to become better equipped to lead our School Programs. We are now excited to offer two options: Explore Printmaking and Discover Zines.

I am looking forward to having fun making art with school programs at The Kingston School of Art as part of their the Emerging Educator Mentorship Program!

Explore Printmaking

Dive into the colourful world of printmaking! This program features a mini-lesson about the history of printmaking and different forms of this versatile medium. Students will create their own unique prints using styrofoam and then collaboratively design a class banner, using each individual design. This program is centred around themes of community, kinship, and care.

Recommended for Grades 1 - 12

Discover Zines

Together we’ll listen to the unheard, peripheral voices so often featured in zines! This program features a mini-lesson about the history of zines and key examples of this versatile medium. Students will create their own zines using collage materials. This program is centered around themes of social justice, community care, and alternative methods of production.

Recommended for Grades 5 - 12
